Puget Sound: One oil spill away from disaster?
Crews try to contain a 2004 oil spill that lapped at the beach at Vashon Island's Neill Point. More than 1,000 gallons of oil spilled at night between Tacoma's Commencement Bay and Vashon Island, fouling 21 miles of beach. ConocoPhillips was fined $540,000 for the spill.
