This program is from the 1959 Thanksgiving Day championship game, which the author's older brother saw. It was held back when the top Seattle high-school team would play a top team from another part of the state, with the winner often being crowned state champ in those days before the playoffs. Garfield beat Clover Park 13-7 in 1959, capping a decade in which the Bulldogs won three Turkey Day games and tied another. Beginning in 1960, the game would feature the division champs in the newly formed Metro League.
