Trained dogs lead the hunt for valuable local truffles

White truffles tend to be smaller than black, and some truffle hunters prefer to delicately pick through their finds with a large soup spoon. There are just a handful of harvesters now who rely exclusively on dogs to gather truffles for commercial sale.
