Roger Ebert: Movies brought him fame; writing let him believe ‘all is well’

In 1975, Chicago Sun-Times film critic Roger Ebert, right, was paired with crosstown rival Gene Siskel in a Chicago public-TV movie-review program. The collaboration,which lasted until Siskel’s death in 1999, turned the two newspaper journalists into unlikely stars.
