A delegation of business and political leaders from Seattle was treated to a reception from the top of Target Terrace, billed as a glamorous and unique event space at the L.A. Live entertainment complex, which arose next to Staples Center and revitalized a downtrodden section of downtown Los Angeles. Views include nearby buildings and large, painted ads. A Seattle version would be far less showy and grand in scope but could pump new life into the stadium district, backers say. Critics say that Seattle isn’t L.A. and worry that L.A. Live wouldn’t work here and would hurt industry.
