Next generations tell the buried tales of Chinese Northwesterners

What began as a family project for his sons turned into a bold book venture for Vancouver architect David Wong, whose graphic novel, "Escape to Gold Mountain" portrays Northwest Chinese history in a format friendly to young readers of all ethnic backgrounds. This panel depicts his children's shock over the name of an old fish-processing machine, known as an "Iron Chink," at a Vancouver museum.
