Wilderness advocates battling over whether to save the ways in

The Suiattle River Road near Darrington, washed out in a half-dozen places in the past decade, became a flash point for battles over access among green groups when two of them filed suit to block its reopening in 2011. The road is the primary west-side access to the Glacier Peak Wilderness.
