Happily unhip West Seattle attracts a new crowd

From left, Sidal Kim, Paoeun Kaim and Samen Nhount wash vegetables at the High Point Farm Stand on a recent afternoon. All of the produce and flowers sold at the farm stand are picked fresh from the P-Patch market garden. Most of the gardeners in the program, including Kim, who is from Vietnam, are from Southeast Asia and east Africa. They receive a small stipend for their work.
