Boehner gives in to right in budget fight

Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., right, participates in a mock swearing-in ceremony with Speaker of the House Rep. John Boehner in January. Emboldened conservatives have forced House Republican leaders to push a stopgap spending bill that would unravel President Obama's health care law, and they say they're digging in for a long fight. "Our resolve on this is unrelenting," said Meadows, whose letter in July to Boehner and Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., called for collaboration to "defund one of the largest grievances in our time" and attracted 79 Republicans.
