Volunteers hunt for the truth about our place in the Civil War

The Civil War’s legacy in the Northwest extended into popular culture. One of the best-attended events at Seattle’s 1909 Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition was the Dixie Day picnic organized by local Confederate veterans and children of vets to celebrate Southern hospitality.
