Rover's decade on Mars surprises NASA

This image provided by NASA shows a piece of metal with the American flag on it that is made of aluminum recovered from the site of the World Trade Center towers in New York City. The part, shown on Mars rover Spirit, serves as a cable guard for Spirit's rock abrasion tool as well as a memorial to the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Mars Rover Opportunity has an identical piece.
