Retired Army Staff Sgt. Melvin Morris listens to U.S. President Barack Obama speak at the White House after Morris was awarded the Medal of Honor on Tuesday. Following a congressionally mandated review to ensure that eligible recipients were not bypassed due to prejudice, 24 veterans received the Medal of Honor for action during major combat operations in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
