Feds to clean site of Hanford's 1976 'Atomic Man' accident

Particles of radioactive material and glass flew into this room on the Hanford Nuclear Reservation in Richland, Wash., on Monday, Sept. 1, 1976, injuring technician Harold McCluskey and exposing nine others to radioactivity. The space, now dubbed the McCluskey Room, is located inside the closed Plutonium Finishing Plant and is scheduled for cleanup this summer.
