United Technologies unit gets $171.1M contract

The Department of Defense said late Tuesday that it gave an approximately $171.1 million contract to a United Technologies Corp. division to make and convert 14 airplanes for the United Arab Emirates.

The Department of Defense said late Tuesday that it gave an approximately $171.1 million contract to a United Technologies Corp. division to make and convert 14 airplanes for the United Arab Emirates.

Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. will work on the UH-60M aircraft project in Stratford, Conn.

Work is expected to be completed on Dec. 31, 2012.
