WASHINGTON —

Patty Murray and two other U.S. senators are traveling to China to meet with leaders of that country.

Murray, a Washington state Democrat, chairs the U.S.-China Inter-Parliamentary Group, which promotes dialogue between the U.S. Senate and the Chinese government. Also going on the trip are Sens. Roland Burris, D-Ill., and Kit Bond, R-Mo., who is vice chairman of the inter-parliamentary group. They plan to discuss trade, the economy, international security, energy and other issues with the Chinese leaders.

The delegation will leave Washington, D.C., on Sunday and return Jan. 16, with stops in Beijing and Shanghai.
