Lands' End to lay off 30 in Wisconsin, 30 overseas

Lands' End plans to lay off 60 workers.

The Associated Press

DODGEVILLE, Wis. —

Lands' End plans to lay off 60 workers.

The Dodgeville, Wis.-based company says 30 employees will be laid off in Dodgeville, and another 30 will be laid off at its United Kingdom and Germany operations.

The clothing and home goods retailer says the employees hold a range of positions but do not include seasonal workers.

Spokeswoman Michelle Casper said Thursday the company has been looking at ways of streamlining for several months, and the cuts are not due to the economy or post-holiday sales.

Lands' End says its last round of layoffs was in 2005. It currently employs about 3,300 people at its Dodgeville headquarters. It's a subsidiary of Sears Holdings Corp.
