GREECE WORRIES: Interest rates fell in the bond market Tuesday as investors worry that Greece could default on its debt and that the trouble there would spread to other weak European economies like Spain or Portugal.

STOCKS SLUMP: The Dow Jones industrials fell 255 points. The stock slump increased demand for safe investments like Treasurys.

LOWER RATES: The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note fell to 3.60 percent from 3.69 percent. The 10-year yield is tied to mortgages and other consumer loans.
