One "stealth Starbucks" getting company name again

The Starbucks café at 328 15th Avenue E. on Capitol Hill will get its old name — Starbucks — back at the end of the month, the company said Friday.

It was one of two so-called "stealth Starbucks" stores that the chain rebranded in 2009 with their street names — in this case 15th Avenue Coffee & Tea — in an independent-style coffeehouse experiment that included wine and beer, a broader food menu, evening concerts and other elements not often seen at Starbucks locations.

Last fall, Starbucks remodeled its Olive Way store on Capitol Hill to include those same features under the Starbucks name.

Next month, the only "stealth Starbucks" remaining will be Roy Street Coffee & Tea, also on Capitol Hill.
