Kuwait-based United Arab Shipping Co. (UASC) will begin calling at the Port of Seattle’s Terminal 30 in a partnership to expand the existing Asia-U.S. service by China Shipping Container Lines.

UASC will provide two ships to the service that carries cargo between China, Hong Kong and South Korea and the Northwest ports of Seattle and Vancouver B.C.

China Shipping previously operated the service with two smaller vessels and will add two larger ones, so the service will utilize six ships.

This article, published April 8, 2013, was corrected the following day to clarify that China Shipping will add two larger vessels, not replace the smaller ones.
