Boeing has won commitments from Chinese airlines for 200 of its forthcoming 737 MAX jets, Reuters reported from Singapore, citing “two sources familiar with the deals.”

The sales to mulitple airlines must await approval by the Chinese government, a usual practice for aircraft orders in the country.

If finalized, the orders would be worth $20.7 billion at list prices. However, based on market pricing data from aircraft valuation firm Avitas, after standard discounts the true value of the orders would be about $10 billion.

Three Chinese companies ordered 68 Airbus A320s in September, while Air China ordered 100 in May.
