Ed Prince for Renton City Council
The Seattle Times editorial board endorses Ed Prince for Renton City Council.
ED Prince is the preferred candidate for the Renton City Council seat being vacated by King Parker.
Prince is a grant writer with a background in nonprofits and an active Democrat. He is chairman of the Renton Planning Commission.
He is endorsed by five council members, including Parker, who says Prince "is absolutely committed" to civic work. Prince founded The Next Curve, a Renton group to promote philanthropy, and led a campaign to pass the Renton school bond and levy.
His opponents have backgrounds in the military. Robin Jones is a lieutenant colonel in the Army reserves and a Boeing project manager; Mark Martinez was a Marine staff sergeant and tank commander in Iraq.
Either might be a good councilman, but Prince has a strong edge in local involvement.
