SAN DIEGO — Amanda Best scored 28 points and Ashley Tuiasosopo turned in an outstanding defensive performance as Woodinville won the championship of the Surf Division of the Surf 'N Slam Tournament with a 70-28 rout of Service High School of Anchorage Friday.

The unbeaten Falcons (7-0) beat teams from New Jersey and Pennsylvania to reach the title game. In the final, they overwhelmed the Alaskans, who were state runners-up last year, with 52 percent shooting. Woodinville hit 9 of 16 three-point attempts, going 4 of 4 in the third quarter in outscoring Service 25-4.

Best, a 5-foot-11 junior, hit five three-pointers and was 10 of 15 from the field overall.

Tuiasosopo, a junior guard, held Lillian Bullock of Service to eight points on 3-of-21 shooting. Bullock had been averaging 28 points.

LeeAnn Palo, the tournament MVP, got her first double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 assists for Woodinville. Tuiasosopo and Best were named to the all-tournament team.

Other tournaments

Mount Spokane 50, Kennedy 45

At the Seattle Christian Christmas Classic, Kennedy went into the fourth quarter tied, but couldn't hold on to win. Daidra Brown scored 11 for the Lancers (6-2). Averi Hallman led Mount Spokane with 13.

Tumwater 62, Kentridge 52

At the Seattle Christian Christmas Classic, Ashley Andrews scored 17 and Tawana Brown had 14 as the Thunderbirds (7-3) beat the Chargers (3-5). Tia Hall collected 16 points, five rebounds and four steals for Kentridge.

Ballard 52, Warren, Calif., 47

At the Cactus Jam in Phoenix, all-tournament selection Gillian Huggins had 11 points and 15 rebounds as the Beavers (5-2) claimed third place. Charlotte Shannon also had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds for Ballard, which led 18-7 after one quarter.

Shoreline Christian 57,

Sunnyside Christian 48

At the Oakleaf Classic at North Sound Christian in Mountlake Terrace, Julia De Koekkoek got seven of her 22 points in the closing minutes as Shoreline Christian claimed the tournament championship. Colleen Woods scored 23 and De Koekkoek had 22 for the Crusaders (8-1).

Cedarcrest 58,

Pacific Christian, B.C., 41

At the Victoria Prep Invitational, Whitney Oviatt hit 12 of 15 shots and scored 24 points as the Red Wolves (10-0) stayed unbeaten. Oviatt had 10 points in Cedarcrest's 19-4 first-quarter run. Karen Lawton had nine points, seven steals and six assists for Cedarcrest.

Bear Creek 59, Crescent 26

At the Lions Invitational at North Sound Christian in Mountlake Terrace, Kimi Pohlman's double-double (18 points, 14 rebounds) helped the Grizzlies (5-2) to victory. Jamie Perry added 15 points for Bear Creek.

Nonleague

At Oak Harbor 43, Ferndale 40

Mietra Smollack's 13 points led the Wildcats (2-6), who climbed out of an 11-4 first-quarter hole.

Lakeside 74, at Heritage Park (Mission, B.C.) 71

Lauren Sanchez (24 points) and Mary Padden (20) teamed for 44 points to lead the Lions (5-5) to victory. Lakeside trailed by a point going into the fourth quarter.

At Franklin Pierce 41, Shelton 37

Kendall Williams' double-double (10 points, 13 rebounds) helped the Cardinals (5-5) to a victory.

Granite Falls 54, at Concrete 47

Michaela Dudder scored 16 and Tera Bauer 14 for the Tigers (5-3), who outscored the Lions 16-8 in the pivotal second quarter.
