Eastside prep stars of the week

A.J. Hostak

Eastside Catholic wrestling

Hostak, a freshman, pinned three opponents in 44 seconds, 10 seconds and 20 seconds, respectively, to capture the 103-pound championship at the Charging Rhino Classic at Eastside Catholic. He was named outstanding wrestler for the 103- to 140-pound weight classes. It was Hostak's fourth tournament title after having won at Forks, Chief Sealth and Lynnwood.

Ashley Tuiasosopo

Woodinville girls basketball

The 5-foot-8 junior guard helped the unbeaten Falcons (7-0) capture the Surf Division championship at the Surf 'N Slam Tournament in San Diego. Tuiasosopo had 13 points, six rebounds, six steals and four assists in the opener against Orange, N.J. She followed with 16 points against Archbishop Prendergast of Pennsylvania, and finished by holding Service of Anchorage's prolific scorer, Lillian Bullock, to a season-low eight points on 3-of-21 shooting.

Inglemoor boys basketball team

The Vikings, coached by Greg Lowell, rallied from eight points down in the fourth quarter to beat fifth-ranked Kentwood 63-55 and win the Oh Boy! Oberto Christmas Classic championship at Bothell High School. Inglemoor (6-1) opened the tournament with wins over Kennedy and Bellevue Christian.

Stars of the week are selected by The Seattle Times staff and published Tuesdays, but can be chosen only once each sports season. Nominations may be e-mailed by Sunday night to sports@seattletimes.com with name, school and accomplishments.
