Eastside prep stars of the week

Amanda Best, Woodinville girls basketball

Best, a 6-foot senior forward, helped the Falcons go 3-0 in the American Division of the Interstate Shootout in Lake Oswego, Ore. She totaled 70 points, 37 rebounds (28 defensive), 14 assists and eight blocked shots, with double-doubles of 23 points and 18 rebounds, and 25 points and 13 rebounds.

Will Sanger, Bear Creek boys basketball

Sanger, a 6-2 senior forward, had a pair of double-doubles to lead the Grizzlies to their second consecutive Lions Invitational championship in Mountlake Terrace. He had 25 points and 12 rebounds in a 59-53 first-round victory against Crescent, then totaled 17 points and 11 rebounds in a 58-46 win over host North Sound Christian.

Bellevue girls basketball team

The Wolverines, coached by Bill Kelley, defeated three California teams to capture the Slam Division championship at the Surf 'N Slam Tournament in San Diego. After edging St. Bonaventure 45-44, Bellevue beat Sonoma Valley 52-39 in the semifinals and Justin-Siena 66-55 in the title game. Junior Joey Brazen was named Slam Division MVP.
