Bright, a 5-foot-11 senior guard, nailed 10 of 17 shots from the field — including 5 of 8 three-pointers — as he poured in 31 points to lead the Wolverines to a 57-50 victory over Squalicum in the championship game of the Les Schwab BC Christmas Classic. Bright averaged 25 points in three games to earn MVP honors.
Jones, a 5-9 senior guard, averaged 26 points over three games to help the Mustangs win the Cactus Division of the Cactus Jam Hoop Classic in Phoenix. She was voted tournament MVP. Jones recorded a double-double in the semifinals with 33 points and 10 rebounds, and averaged more than four assists per game.
Woodinville girls basketball team
The Falcons, coached by Scott Bullock, won the Surf Division of the Surf N' Slam tournament in San Diego, beating Miramonte of Orinda, Calif., in the championship game with five players scoring in double figures. Ali Forde was voted tournament MVP and was joined on the all-tourney team by teammates Melissa Gilkey and Crystal Nybo.
