UNIVERSITY PLACE — Emerald Ridge won its third consecutive Class 4A bowling state team championship on Saturday at Narrows Plaza Bowl, beating rival Rogers by 575 pins.
It was a much more comfortable victory for the Jaguars from Puyallup's South Hill, who last year edged Kennewick for the title by only 18 pins.

On Friday, Emerald Ridge junior Courtney Couch claimed the individual title with a six-game average of 184, knocking down 1,102 pins — 44 more than second-place Ashley Johnson of Rogers.
In Class 3A/2A, Prairie wrapped up the team championship on Saturday with 7,107 pins. Wilson of Tacoma was next with 6,987, with Mark Morris of Longview third at 6,884.
