Class 4A

Chris Woodard, Wenatchee baseball: Woodard, a senior, went 4 for 7. He had a grand slam in an 11-1 win against Eastmont.

Makenzie Pletcher, Puyallup softball: Pletcher, a senior, was 7 for 9 with two doubles, two home runs, seven runs and seven RBI in wins over Curtis, Beamer and Spanaway Lake.

Class 3A

Jake Kolterman, Hazen baseball: Kolterman, a sophomore, was one strike from a no-hitter before settling for a one-hit, 12-0 shutout of Kennedy Catholic. Kolterman finished with 12 strikeouts and one walk.

Francesca O'Malley, Shorewood tennis: O'Malley, a junior, defeated a Shorecrest opponent to improve to 5-0, with losses in only two sets.

Class 2A

Micah Ohl, Ephrata track and field: Ohl, a senior, won the 100 and 200 meters and ran on the winning 400 and 1,600 relays to help his team win the 38th annual Ray Cross Invitational. His 11.04 seconds in the 100 was a personal best.

Brook Stutzman, Ephrata softball: Stutzman, a freshman, batted .533 with eight hits, a triple, home run and 10 RBI.

Class 1A

Joel Moore, Orting baseball: Moore, a senior, went 6 for 10 with a homer, three doubles, three stolen bases and seven RBI in three games. He hit the winning two-run double in the bottom of the seventh inning to beat Cascade Christian.

Brooke Goldsmith, Elma softball: Goldsmith, a sophomore, struck out 11 in a no-hitter during a doubleheader sweep of Tenino. She also had five hits in the two games.

Class 2B

Cameron Richman, DeSales baseball: Richman, a freshman, struck out eight in a two-hit, 12-0 shutout of Tekoa-Oakesdale-Rosalia. He also hit two triples.

No girls nominated.

Class 1B

Annie Couch, Selkirk softball: Couch, a senior, went 7 for 8 in two games against St. Michael's. She had four RBI and scored seven runs.

No boys nominated.

WIAA State Athletes of the Week are selected by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association from nominations by athletic directors.
