Foster, a 6-foot-8 senior center, stood tall when the nationally ranked Vikings needed him most, averaging team-bests of 13.3 points and 10.7 rebounds to lead them to a third straight Class 3A state championship and earn MVP honors. “All year I told him it starts with him, and it ended with him in championship fashion,” assistant coach Dave King said.

Makala Roper, Cleveland girls basketball

She was a repeat selection as MVP, averaging 16.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists. “She did some great stuff and hit some big buckets,” coach Stephenie Wheeler-Smith said.
