Player of the game: UCLA running back Chris Markey had been struggling this season, but he broke out against the Huskies with 193 yards on 14 carries. He had runs of 66 and 72 yards, the latter for a touchdown.
Play of the game: UCLA pulled out some razzle-dazzle early in the game with a 57-yard flanker pass from Brandon Breazell to Terrence Austin. The play set up UCLA's first touchdown in the second quarter.
Turning point: The Huskies seemed to be back in the game, but UCLA's Matthew Slater returned a kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown to put the Bruins ahead 38-24. The kickoff came after a 63-yard pass from Jake Locker to Anthony Russo.
Huskies highlight: Russo scored two touchdowns and had 106 yards on five catches.
Huskies lowlight: Washington allowed an opponent to rush for more than 300 yards for only the second time in the Tyrone Willingham era.
Key stat: UCLA was 10 of 19 on third-down opportunities.
