What is Baylor?
Baylor is a private Baptist university located in Waco, Texas. On its website, it says that it was "chartered in 1845" by the republic of Texas, making it the "oldest, continually operating university in the state."
Listed at 12,438 undergraduates for fall 2011.
About its football team
Baylor went 9-3 this season overall, 6-3 and tied with Oklahoma for third in the Big 12. The Bears finished the regular season ranked 15th in the AP poll and 16th in the coaches poll.
Baylor's marquee player is quarterback Robert Griffin III, who is a leading contender for the Heisman Trophy after throwing for 36 touchdowns and also rushing for 644 yards and nine touchdowns.

Baylor was sixth in the nation in scoring this year at 43.5 points per game, but 109th in scoring defense allowing 35.7 points per game.
