LOS ANGELES — The Washington women’s basketball team scored its first L.A. road sweep in 12 years, beating USC 63-55 at the Galen Center on Sunday.

Junior guard Jazmine Davis scored a game-high 25 points for the Huskies (12-9, 5-5 Pac-12), who stormed to a 31-17 halftime lead in front of 423 and held off a late Trojans comeback.

UW led 15-3 behind three three-pointers just over six minutes into the game against the cold-shooting Trojans (14-9, 7-4), who hit only 7 of 30 first-half shots. Davis took an inbounds pass under her own basket with six seconds left and went coast to coast to drain a running shot that produced the 14-point halftime lead.

The Huskies extended the lead to 16 in the early stages of the second half, but USC would not go quietly. The Trojans used a 7-0 run to cut the lead to just five with 8:34 to play. After a Husky timeout, Talia Walton made back-to-back jumpers to push the UW lead back to nine.

The Trojans chipped their deficit to 51-48 at the 3:54 mark, 51-48, but Davis answered with a three-point play.

USC got within two with 1:08 to play, but Davis reponded with another three and the Huskies salted the game away at the foul line.

Davis surpassed 1,500 career points (1,521) and moved into the UW’s all-time top 10, while teammate Aminah Williams, with a game-high 14 rebounds, surpassed 700 for her career.

Washington opened its Los Angeles trip with a 70-58 victory at UCLA on Friday.

The Huskies return home from two straight weeks on the road to host 21st-ranked California on Friday and No. 4 Stanford on Sunday.
