Washington fans waiting for the Holiday Bowl on ESPN had their patience tested.
Showing four bowl games in one day finally caught up to ESPN. The game preceding the Holiday Bowl featuring North Carolina and Tennessee went into overtime, causing the network to shift the Huskies and Cornhuskers to ESPNU.
That meant Seattle fans watching on ESPN missed most of the first quarter. The game reverted to ESPN with about two minutes left in the opening period after North Carolina pulled out the Music City Bowl win.
ESPN wasn't finished teasing UW fans, though. Stanford was on its way to upsetting Connecticut, ending UConn's 90-game win streak, so the network switched to the end of the women's basketball game. It mostly used a split screen that also showed Holiday Bowl action.
