Player of the game
Keith Price completed 14 of 19 passes for 181 yards. He tossed three touchdowns of 20, 3 and 16 yards. Price didn't throw an interception.
Turning point
Washington scored easily on its first two drives before the offense momentarily fizzled. After punting on the previous possession, the Huskies faced a fourth-and-4 at the Portland State 48. Punter Travis Coons threw a 16-yard pass to Sean Parker on a fake for the first down. UW scored six plays later and never looked back.
Key stats
Washington scored 45 points in the first half, which tied a school record for points in a half. The Huskies accomplished the feat in 1980 against Northwestern and against Oregon State in 1999. Washington was 14 points shy of tying its modern-day scoring record of 66, which was set in 1974 against Oregon.
Quote of the day
"Turnovers are a big thing. They are a big step toward determining the outcome of the game. We needed to come out on fire and after last week. We owed our offense and the team. We set our goal to get three turnovers." — sophomore linebacker John Timu.
By the numbers
103 Sophomore running back Bishop Sankey finished with 103 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries.
