'American Idol' hopeful Danelle Hayes has dreams dashed by bad behavior — UPDATED

Posted by Cheri Robertson

You probably noticed something, well someone, missing from this week's Hollywood round of "American Idol." Our own local hopeful, Danelle Hayes earned a golden ticket, but didn't actually make it to Hollywood. The teary Kirkland girl stole our hearts with her audition in Denver, but just a couple of days before she was set to fly south, the producers pulled the plug on her Idol dreams.

My friend David Rose at Q13 FOX News sat down with Danelle Wednesd to chat about the abrupt end to her Idol path and where her singing career is headed now. It looks like brushes with the law ultimately closed the gates to "American Idol" stardom. At least for now. Here's a snippet of the interview:

Hayes sure comes across as a likable troublemaker who is trying to clean up her act. She has a misdemeanor criminal history dating back to 2004 and indirectly, that's what led to her golden ticket being revoked. Danelle says she has a seven year deferred prosecution for drunk driving. That means she's on probation for a looooooong time. Apparently the Idol folks weren't willing to get clearance from Danelle's probation officer every time she needs to leave the state, so they opted to give her the boot instead. She was encouraged to audition again, so hopefully, she'll get another crack at Hollywood.

Listen to Danelle sing at the Edgewater Hotel:

P.S. For inquiring minds, you can also see the related police reports here, here, here and here.
