FAA chooses Office 365 for email, collaboration

The Federal Aviation Administration has chosen a cloud solution based on Office 365 to provide email and collaboration tools to its employees, Microsoft announced today.

The FAA will deploy the solution, provided by Computer Sciences Corp., to some 60,000 FAA employees and 20,000 Department of Transportation employees, according to a Microsoft news release.

It's part of Microsoft's continuing bid to win government agencies to its cloud services -- an area where it's been jousting with competitor Google, which has offerings such as Google Apps for Government.
