Susan Powell disappearance raises questions

Police misconduct

What in the world were the Utah investigators thinking when they failed to act on the evidence they discovered about the death of Susan Powell? [“Ominous signs quickly seen in Powell case,” page one, March 31.]

Will there ever be an investigation about police misconduct in this case? Is religion a factor here?

— Jack McClurg, Marysville

Disappointed in prosecutor

I recently read the Powell-case article and was very disappointed by the response of the Pierce County prosecutor when he said that “Pierce County is only responsible for the charges against Stephen Powell” and that he didn’t know the law in Utah, but he would have charged Josh Powell, if he was able.

If he really would have, then why didn’t he politely give his opinion to Utah, or search the things that they recently searched sooner, before Josh Powell killed himself and his kids. This is the kind of thing that causes tragedies like the deaths of Susan and Josh’s children.
