Graduates head out into the great unknown

An inspiring grandson

Alex Suryan graduates this week from the University of Washington. He wrote these words.

“I cannot believe how fast the last four years have gone by. I’ve made some memories that will last a lifetime and some that weren’t meant to be remembered the next morning. I’ve met people I will never forget and some that I will. I’ve changed a lot, hopefully for the better. Do I know my future? Not at all. Am I scared? Absolutely. Am I proud of what I’ve accomplished? Without a doubt. Am I ready for the real world? I’ve been warming up for a long time and it’s my turn to step up to the plate swinging not for the fences but rather just to get on base. It’s time to prove myself to everyone who has looked over me.”

Alex is my grandson. His wisdom inspires and motivates me.
