New infraction fines for inattentive driving in King County

Change enforcement attitudes first

I can't believe that the Metropolitan King County Council is wasting taxpayer money to pass another law that is not enforced [“Inattentive driving could soon cost you $124 in King County,” NWTuesday, Nov. 6].

Look closely at our current cellphone law. One can stand on any busy street corner and if you could receive $10 for every person you saw driving while on their phone, we would soon be rolling in greenbacks. These laws are a joke if not enforced and so far they have not been.

Safer streets? Not until their enforcement attitude changes.
