Veterans for Peace join Auburn Veterans Day parade

Supporting military through peace advocacy

Advocating for peace neither disrespects nor disregards the commitment and sacrifices made by our military personnel [“Auburn salutes veterans,” NWSunday, Nov. 11]. Advocating for peace, especially by veterans, is a statement of the utmost support for those currently serving in the defense of our country.

Advocating for peace is a plea to our politicians: first of all, to not deploy our troops on a mission of flawed rationale; second,to supply our troops, when deployed, with the best available equipment; and third, to provide the best re-entry services possible to include both physical and emotional medical care, job training, housing, education, etc.

I applaud the people of the Veterans for Peace organization in their support of our military.
