Bellevue cops punished for off-duty behavior
Police officers must set an example
After reading the article about two Bellevue cops disciplined for bad behavior at Seahawks game, I was shocked that a couple of officers had the nerve to approach another officer and harass her, while also repeatedly dropping “F-bombs” in front of some fans, including a 12-year-old boy [“Bellevue punishes two cops for bad behavior,” page one, Dec. 5].
I agree with the punishment given to them; it wasn’t too extreme and it fit the situation. Kids, teenagers and adults all look to the police to set a good example and be leaders in our communities. When situations like these happen, we start to doubt them.
I think it was a very big thing for the officers to apologize to everyone involved and to understand how much the police force affects all of their citizens.
