Law limiting payday lending succeeds in Washington state

Stand against the abuse of the poor

Thank you, Attorney Fred Corbit, for your article in defense of Washington’s laws against exorbitant interest [“Payday-lending law works in Washington state,” Opinion, Jan. 9]. Your article was succinct and made a strong argument.

We need to stand firm in our position against abuse of the poorest of our communities, not letting big spenders like Moneytree cloud our reasoning with their rhetoric.
