Mars Hill Pastor tweets doubt of president's faith

Driscoll’s suggestions are not in the spirit of Christianity

I am very curious as to which divinity school, if any, “Pastor” Mark Driscoll of Mars Hill Church attended. It seems that he never learned that being judgmental of others is very non-Christian.

The remarks he made about President Obama are completely unacceptable, especially for someone as vocal as Driscoll [“Pastor’s remarks on Obama noticed,” NWWednesday, Jan. 23]. He cannot possibly know what is in President Obama’s heart nor can he possibly be familiar with Obama’s knowledge of the Bible.

I have learned that Driscoll’s “church” has a very reactionary view of women, and I am wondering if he has the same view of minorities?

--Christen Hearn, Seattle

Driscoll’s comments are absurd

Comments by Mark Driscoll do not mention if he is a pastor or clergyperson of any type — and to me, his off-the-wall remarks as to President Obama clearly show he is not.

As Americans, we all cherish our right to free speech, no matter how absurd it may be.

--Wally Adams, Seattle

Stick to the Bible

I am surprised by what is being taught to budding pastors. If it is about the Old and New Testaments, then I have been mislead.

Pastor Mark Driscoll of Mar’s Hill Church had a sarcastic comment on the swearing in of President Obama. I will refer him to what Jesus said: “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.”
