Mayor Mike McGinn ends drone program before it is introduced

Drones should make us feel safe

I don’t understand all this hullabaloo of horror about police drones [“Seattle grounds its police-drone program,” page one, Feb. 8].

We pay real money to get a police car to occasionally drive through our suburbs and look around while we are asleep. A burglar would only have to hide while the cop car just happens to be driving by. The only difference I can see is that a drone would be cheaper and better.

I don’t commit crimes and insurrection is not only unpatriotic, it’s a crime. I’m happy and proud that we elect our government and if I hated such a democracy, I would move to another country. And if I just want to do something privately I would do it in my bedroom or bathroom. Personally, I would feel safer and flattered if somebody were watching over me.
