If you can't be inside the Olympic Games, then follow Seattle Times producers, reporters, videographers and Olympic fans as we take you to the streets of Vancouver, B.C., to show you what's happening on the ground and give you a taste of the scene swirling around the 2010 winter games.
A Vancouver, B.C. map by the locals
Posted by Tiffany Campbell
I've been following @olympicreporter for awhile now. Jeff Lee is the Olympics reporter for the Vancouver Sun up north in B.C., and he's put together a Google locator map to end all maps. I'll be using this to help me navigate Vancouver for sure in the next few weeks.
Here's an excerpt from his latest blog post:
The list includes sporting venues, complete with their costs and history; government pavilions, other countries' pavilions and houses, sponsor sites and events, transportation lines and nodes, and even a few oddities worth noting. I've linked official 2010 event schedules inside the venue listings as well
Lastly, a tip of the hat to Andrea over at 2010vanfan.ca, who also has a Googlemaps listing, and to the brilliant folks over at Citycaucus.com, who also have created a page of free events.
Here's the map (Jeff notes that the map is growing daily):
