Photo taken: Oct. 12, Maple Pass, North Cascades
Photographer's description: “Though the weather forecast was not favorable I hiked the Heather Pass-Maple Pass loop and was presented with stunning views of blue lakes, golden larches and first snow of the season! Taken with Fujifilm X-E1, at f11, 1/60 second, ISO 200.”
Expert says: “This is a beautiful scenic shot. I love how the golden-yellow larches stand out brilliantly against the snow. The photographer was there at a great time to capture that transition as the larches turned color and the first snow fell. I almost want the frame to be a little wider so we can see more of that, if there is more. Beautiful find.”
