South Lake Union Streetcar -- a loser in this campaign season
Posted by Susan Gilmore
If there's any loser in this election, it's the South Lake Union Streetcar.
Asked at a candidates' forum in Ballard Monday whether they thought the streetcar, pushed by Mayor Greg Nickels, was a good idea, seven of the eight candidates for City Council said no.
Only Council President Richard Conlin, up for election next month against challenger David Ginsberg, said it was a good deal. Asked the same question, both candidates for mayor -- Joe Mallahan and Mike McGinn -- answered a resounding "no."
