Grace Crunican not selected for Oregon job

Posted by Emily Heffter

Clackamas County, Ore. announced this afternoon they are not hiring Seattle Director of Transportation Grace Crunican. Crunican was a finalist for the county administrator job there.

Clackamas County instead hired Steve Wheeler, who has been serving as the county's interim administrator.

In Seattle, Crunican came under fire a year ago for the city's poor handling of a big snowstorm. During the mayoral campaign, both candidates said they would likely fire her.

Mayor-elect Mike McGinn wouldn't comment on Crunican earlier today, and the most recent rumor around City Hall is that he's decided to keep Crunican in his new administration.
