Former Arkansas Gov. Huckabee endorses John Koster for 2nd District Congress

Posted by Lynn Thompson

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee Wednesday endorsed Republican John Koster for Washington’s 2nd Congressional District.

Huckabee praised Koster’s conservative values, saying that he had a “100 percent pro-life voting record, believes that marriage is between one man and one woman and believes in the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution affording Americans the right to keep and bear arms.”

Koster, a Snohomish County Councilman, is challenging five-term Democratic incumbent Rick Larsen to represent the district that stretches from Mukilteo north to the Canadian border. Earlier in the campaign, Koster picked up endorsements from former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas.

The endorsement came a day after Koster withdrew from a scheduled television debate because he objected to one of the journalists chosen to ask the candidates questions. Koster will debate Larsen Friday morning before the Marysville-Tulalip Chamber of Commerce. The debate will be aired by TVW and by KCTS TV.
