Dave Matthews to help Obama raise Seattle cash
President Obama's visit to Seattle next month will include a lunch fundraiser at the Paramount Theatre, featuring musical guest Dave Matthews.
The May 10 event will cost at least $100 for balcony seating and $1,000 for general admission, according to details posted on the Obama campaign website. Those with the dough can drop $5,000 for a photo reception with the president.
Proceeds will be split between Obama's re-election campaign and the Democratic National Committee.
If past practice holds, Obama is likely to pair the Paramount event with a more intimate and exclusive chat with big shot donors, such as the $17,900-per-person brunch he attended in February at the home of Jeff and Susan Brotman.
The Obama campaign did not immediately respond to a request for further details on the May 10 visit. No public appearances have been announced.
The president's re-election campaign already has raised nearly $3 million in Washington state, out of his $157 million total, according to the Federal Election Commission.
