FC Kansas City stopped Reign FC’s unbeaten streak and put a serious dent into Seattle’s playoff hopes on Saturday, beating the Reign 2-0 at Verizon Wireless Field in Overland Park, Kan.

Lauren Holiday scored in the 39th minute with a 20-yard blast that beat Reign goalkeeper Hope Solo, and Erika Tymrak added another in the 86th minute.

The loss ended a six-game unbeaten streak for the Reign (4-10-3), which sits nine points out of the fourth and final playoff spot with five games left in the season.

The win was the first for FC Kansas City (8-4-5) in four games.

Zags get transfer from Kentucky

Kyle Wiltjer, a former McDonald’s All-American at Jesuit High in Portland, Ore., officially transferred to Gonzaga from Kentucky.

In his two seasons at Kentucky, the 6-foot-10 Wiltjer shot 39 percent from three-point range. He was 55-for-155 last season.

Wiltjer, the Southeastern Conference Sixth Man of the Year last season, will sit out next season due to NCAA transfer rules and then have two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Ryan Villopoto raced to his fifth Lucas Oil Pro Championships victory of the year and first at his home track in Washougal, winning the second 450 class moto after finishing second in the first. Villopoto, the Monster Energy Kawasaki star from Poulsbo, ended Ryan Dungey’s Washougal victory streak — in both 450 and 250 competition — at five. Villopoto leads the season standings, 42 points ahead of Dungey.

Corey Prugh of Spokane and Shane Prante of Olympia were tied at 10-under 132 to share the lead after two rounds at the Rosauer’s Open Invitational at Indian Canyon Golf Course in Spokane.
